The Brief

To create and extranet based content management system allowing Greenpeace members from across the UK to manage their own website, news releases and upcoming events.

The Solution

We created a permissions-based extranet system which allows user to login and have access to only the areas of the site that are relevant to them. From there, the approved administrator from, for example, Brighton, can login and manage content for Brighton's particular area of the site. This includes creating online picture galleries, adding upcoming events of interest to local members, news releases, general information, and personal contacts for the area.

The content management system (CMS) is the heart of this development, and the front end feeds off information entered into the database via the CMS by the Greenpeace site users. This application is excellent for creating web-based communities for similar minded people, while allowing all instant access to what the latest news in their area is.
